In the dead silence, all the details suddenly fell into place for me with a burst of intuition. Something Edward didn’t want me to know. Something that Jacob wouldn’t have kept from me… It was never going to end, was it?

SINK YOUR TEETH INTO ECLIPSE, THE THIRD BOOK IN STEPHANIE MEYER’S RIVETING VAMPIRE LOVE SAGA.

Either Meyer’s writing is getting better or I am getting less picky about it – I enjoyed Eclipse far more than New Moon.

The love triangle we all knew was coming struck me as young and amateurish. I do realize these are high school aged characters, so I guess that is to be expected. What surprised me is that I got swept up in it. I kept switching sides, from Team Edward to Team Jacob and back.

This story has expanded to be bigger than just Bella and her little love triangle. I loved reading the histories of the werewolves and the Volturi, and feel Meyer has done a good job at building this parallel world of supernatural beings. It’s not nearly as intricately detailed and thoughtful as, say Harry Potter. But not bad, indeed.

Again, as with New Moon, I feel the story would have been stronger with more editing. That being said, I am looking forward to seeing how the saga ends in Breaking Dawn.
