2016 was a big year for me! Although I started first reviewing books on Goodreads last year and my first book related blog post went up in November 2015, this was my first full year of reviewing books.
Since starting this book blog I’ve learned a few things (about books and myself):
- NetGalley. Edelweiss. Advanced Reader Copies. I didn’t know these things existed before! Seriously, my mind was blown.
- It is decidedly more difficult and time consuming to write a coherent review than to simply turn to a friend and say, “You should read this!”
- In making the effort to post reviews consistently, I’ve not only read nearly double the amount in 2016 than I have in the previous few years, I’m also able to retain more information about each book.
- My TBR pile has also grown significantly; if it was a physical pile rather than a compilation of lists in Goodreads, I’m pretty sure it would be over 100 feet tall.
Anyway. Because I love lists, and yearly wrap ups of favorites seems to be the thing to do, I’ve compiled a list of my top 10 favorite books that I read in 2016. Ironically, this works out to be exactly 10 books that I rated a 5 out of 5, not including rereads. Here they are, in no particular order. (All covers will link to my reviews.)
What were your favorite books that you read this year??
Your second bullet point made me laugh! It is so true 😀
