June Reading Recap

june-reading-recap

June was a great reading month for me! My streak of reading an average of two books a week continues, which was easier this month when the craziness that was May came to an end. With a blend of ARCs, backlist books, a book versus movie, and even a little something outside of my regular reading, this was quite the combination of books! To top it off, more than 50% of them were four stars reads for me.

Without further ado, let’s see the list!

Books I read and reviewed:

The Devil in the White City, by Erik Larson

The Devil in the White City was a departure from my usual reading habits that I enjoyed.

Blackout, by Marc Elsberg

Blackout was a fast paced thought provoking thriller.

Everything, Everything, by Nicola Yoon

Everything, Everything left me unfulfilled, but I’d recommend the book over the movie.

In this Moment, by Karma Brown

In this Moment was an intensely emotional and believable story.

Lux and Lies, by Meg Collett

Lux and Lies was a highly engaging and well thought out dystopian.

The Marriage Pact, by Michelle Richmond

The Marriage Pact is a fast paced thriller that makes you think.

Cress, by Marissa Meyer

Cress, the third book in The Lunar Chronicles, was the best installment yet!

California Bones was a unique and magical story.

On the stack for next month:

july-2017-tbr

Next up on my TBR is a combination of a few ARCs from Netgalley, a few backlist books that I was able to get great deals on, and the sequel to California Bones. Also, there seems to be a “girl” theme that I so did not plan, but maybe someone out there is trying to tell me something? If anyone has thoughts on that subject, I’d love to know!

What are you reading or planning on reading next?

I too noticed the “girl” theme before reading your paragraph. I shall interpret!

    Ohhhhmmmmmm…..

“Thus it was, in the end of days, that Girls became scarce as pure gold.”

Obviously this means you need to wear pink poodle skirts.

Best of luck with that 😀
