I have no idea how this works, but June seemed to both drag and fly by at the same time. Does time ever seem to flex that way for you?
That being said, I had a fantastic reading month. I wound up rating every book I read at least a three, and three books hit full marks for me! I don’t think I’ve ever had that happen before. It’s pretty exhilarating to be on a such a kick of great books and I’m just hoping it continues…
Ready to see what I read and reviewed?
Books I reviewed:
The Book Charmer was, in fact, quite charming.
The Escape Room wasn’t exactly realistic but it was highly entertaining!
I thoroughly enjoyed The Island and can’t wait to see where this series goes next.
Bad Axe County was dark, gritty, and full of atmosphere.
Books I read but haven’t reviewed:
Waking Gods didn’t impact me quite as much as Sleeping Giants, but it was a solid second book to the trilogy.Keeping Lucy was powerful, emotional, and heartbreaking.Because You’re Mine was an entertaining and suspenseful read.
Other posts this month:
In 5 Beachy Books to Read This Summer, I shared five books with beachy settings to help you dig into summer! See the full post HERE.
In this edition of Mini Reviews, I compared some nonfiction books to their movie adaptations. See the full post HERE.
On the stack for next month:
July is going to be heavy on review copies for me. I’d requested a bunch of books that are due to be published in August, and then also received a few invitations to read books through Netgalley that I just couldn’t turn down. I also have a few library books I’d like to get to. First, I’m excited to finish out the Themis Files trilogy with Only Human on audio. And second, I grabbed a copy of The Happiest Baby on the Block as my husband and I are getting ready for our first baby! My due date is mid-August but who knows when this baby will actually be ready to be born, so the next couple months are a bit up in the air. I’m still reading and reviewing for now, though, and have some scheduled posts ready to go if need be, but hopefully I’ll have a full July of reading to report back on at the end of the month!
What are you reading or planning on reading next?
