The End.

open books

Hey, friends. A couple weeks ago I shared how book blogging has changed how I read, in which I shared how it’s become harder to remember the books I read and how I’m trying to find blogging/life balance.

After thinking about it for some time now, I’ve come to the realization that this is the end of the road for me. I simply don’t have the time or energy to keep up with work, a baby, a house, and a life along with book blogging anymore. That said, it’s been a fantastic four and a half years – thank you to all the other bloggers who have made this a fun space to talk about books. I will miss you! For anyone looking to stay in touch, I’ll still be on Goodreads, or feel free to message me if you want to keep in touch via email.

Wishing you all the best. Happy reading!

Readers of this blog will know by now that I love a good seasonal book list. A few weeks ago, I shared a list of five page turners to pick up this summer with books published last fall and winter. But today I wanted to do something a bit different.

5 Page Turners to Pick Up This Summer

Well, it’s that time of year again. The weather is warming and after weeks of not doing much of anything, I’m itching to spend some time lazing on the beach with a book to bury my nose in for a few hours. The jury’s still out on whether we’ll actually be able to enjoy the beach, but books will always be there!

This season, I’m yearning for fast paced books that won’t let me put them down. So that’s what I’m sharing here today. This list is heavy on thrillers (simply given their nature), but I’ve tried to round it out a bit, so you’ll find psychological thriller to legal thriller and even a romance. All of these books have been published within the last six or seven months, so they should be easy to find to purchase online (or from your library’s e-book catalog, if you’re into that).

5 Beachy Books To Read This Summer

5 Beachy Books to Read This Summer

It seemed to take forever this year for the weather to warm up to spring temperatures. Combined with higher than usual amounts of rain, I’ve found myself ready to settle in with books that give me strong summer vibes based on their setting. Particularly those set on the beach, ocean, or lakefront, making me think I can already smell the sunscreen and feel the sand in my toes.

So today I’m sharing five books with beachy settings to help you dig into summer! This selection is strong on thrillers with some romance and coming of age mixed in. If you prefer a bit more variety, the 2019 summer reading guides from Modern Mrs. Darcy and Sarah’s Bookshelves have fantastic choices as well!

5 Contemporary Books to Read This Spring

5 Contemporary Books to Read This Spring

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again; I’m something of a seasonal mood reader. But that doesn’t mean that every season prompts the same mood. This particular season, as winter is slowly coming to a close, I’m feeling partial to picking up a good contemporary book.

Today, I’d like to share five contemporary novels that I love recommending for a variety of reasons. Some of these are lighter in tone and some deal with more serious themes. But they all stuck with me after finishing. These are all backlist books, published in 2018 or earlier, and are arranged from most recent release to the oldest. I hope at least one of them will work for you!

5 Books To Curl Up With This Winter

5 books to curl up with this winter

I don’t know about you, but I’m something of a seasonal mood reader. Meaning, with every change of season I tend to feel a pull to read a certain type of book. It’s not always the same mood each time winter comes around, though. Some years I crave books in hot locations to feel the warmth. Some winters all I want to read is Harry Potter. Sometimes it’s more genre based. But this year, curling up with a book that takes place in a cold or wintry environment is particularly appealing. There’s just something about getting cozy with a blanket and a coffee while the chill is both outside and in my book that sounds just right this season.

Although each of these books features a chilly atmosphere, they couldn’t be more different. This list contains a variety of genres, from historical fiction to contemporary and gothic mystery to Nordic noir. So hopefully there’s something for you in the mix!

5 Atmospheric Reads For Fall

5 Atmospheric Reads for Fall

Ah, fall. When I was younger, I loved the end of summer only because it meant school was starting soon again. Yes, I was that kid. But the change of season that brought cooler temperatures, changing leaves, and back to school clothes and supplies was a fun and exciting change after the lazy days of summer.

This time of year, I typically like to read books that have a certain atmosphere. It might be through a setting that has cool and crisp fall weather, a tone that is slightly eerie, or just a nostalgic mood that reminds me of when I was younger. If any of that sounds like the kind of book you’re looking for this season, you’ve come to the right place!

As usual, most of the books I’ve picked have been previously published to make it easy for readers to find a copy. But I did have to include one newer option that I think is absolutely perfect for this season!
